Nantucket Dolphins Swim Team - 2010/2011 Season

Nantucket Dolphins Practice Groups and Times – PRACTICE STARTS MONDAY OCTOBER 4th

Gold Group – Monday through Friday – 3:00 to 4:30

-Our most intense group for swimmers who are willing to make swimming a full commitment for the season including practices and all meets.

Blue Group – Tuesday through Friday – 3:00 to 4:30

-We will be looking commitment of at least 3 days between Tuesday and Friday; days may change week to week.  There will be around 3 different workouts in Blue Group per practice.  The only difference between Gold and Blue will be the commitment of days.  Targeted for swimmers with 2-3 years experience and who are 11 and Over.  10 and under swimmers may join if they are ready for the yardage.  We will be looking for a full meet commitment from this group.

White Group – Monday/Tuesday/Thursday – 3:00 to 4:00

-Our higher end developmental group is for swimmers 11 and under and for swimmers new to the sport.  Stroke development and improvement is our main focus.  Learning the rules and lingo of swim meets and practices are taught here as well.  Swimmers who are 8 and have had at least 2-3 years experience as a Junior Dolphin may be asked to join this group.  This group will be asked to participate in as many meet as possible.

Junior Dolphins – Tuesday/Thursday – 4:00 to 4:45

-New this year, there will be three sessions throughout the season (dates listed under Payment).  This group is for swimmers 8 and under.  Completion of 25 yard Freestyle and Backstroke will be required for this group along with a kneeling dive and basic understanding of Breaststroke and Butterfly.  Here swimmers will learn the basics of the sport and what it means to be part of a team.  This group will be invited to all home dual meets and will be asked to travel if the coaching staff feels they are mentally and physically ready.  Communication of this with the parents is a high priority.

If you have any questions about what group your swimmer should go into, I’d be more than happy to discuss it.

High School Swimmers – All High School swimmers that would like to participate on the Dolphins this year will be asked to pay $150.  This will give them 8 weeks of practice before their season starts and 2-4 weeks of practice after their season.  This will also include participation in all swim meets.

 Start Times

We have moved the start time of the groups to allow swimmers from the New School to arrive closer to on time and it also allows swimmers who need to seek extra help in the classroom to meet with teachers and not miss too much of practice.

Payment Plans: - Payable to NCP – Full payment or 1st half due Monday October 4th, 2nd half due by January 7th

Gold Group - $500

Blue Group - $450

White Group - $420
